Church Family and Local Community
We so enjoy serving our church family and our local community, all year round. Alongside our family services, Bible studies, prayer meetings, and youth activities…
We help families celebrate special functions i.e. weddings, baby blessings, funerals, anniversaries, and birthday celebrations, etc.
We also hire the church hall, to facilitate local group activities and promote healthy exercise.
We provide practical life skills for all ages. It was great teaming up with the NSPCC, to run a ‘Keeping Your Kids Safe Online’ event for parents and guardians in our local community. Preventing Cyber bullying has become an every day challenge for most parents.
We are passionate about helping those in need, in hardship or crisis. We help through: charitable events; donations to families and food-banks; home help and visits; counselling sessions; prayer and by sharing the Word of God (Bible Study).

Back-to-School Uniforms 2026
This year we kick started our Back-to-School initiative; which involves providing school uniforms, backpacks and stationary supplies to families in need, across Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth.

Our first event was held in Mitcham, on Fair Green. During the day we were able to help local families of all nationalities, different faiths, and backgrounds with the new items of school uniforms that they really needed. We helped to ease the ‘back to school’ financial burden.
We want to thank our local shop keepers, supermarkets, charities and businesses for their support and generous donations to the ‘back-to school’ event. Our special thanks goes to:
The Salvation Army, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Co-op, for supplying refreshments and uniforms; Hand on Heart for the backpacks which were filled with the all essential school supplies. And how can we forget Halfords’ donation of the all important football pump!
On the day, we prayed with families; we uttered ‘Back to School ‘prayers as they collected the school uniforms, backpacks, and Bibles from the stand. We showed the love that Christ has for all, it was a joy and delight to see the smiles on the children’s faces and how excited they were to get a free football. Our prayer…
Our Father who art in heaven,
we give you thanks for our children.
Thank you for all you’ve done, are doing and will continue to do.
As our children embark upon a new academic
year, we ask that you lead, guide and protect them.
Please grant them your wisdom,
knowledge and understanding. Help them to
reach their full potential.
Most of all Father, let our children come to know you
Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen!
As our ‘Praise and Worship’ team sung, you could see tears of joy on the faces of our local residents, amidst the sound of cars honking their horns and joining in the praise. Several cars slowed down at Mitcham junction, and even stopped at hearing that Joyful Sound… Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves.

The day could not have been a success without help from our local church members, who volunteered their time and donated all sorts of goodies. We appreciate you! Our special thanks goes to Merton Council, for making the venue available at no cost and for the Gazebos.
Thank you LORD for making all this possible!
This was the first of our back to school events; our next event is this October, right here in Wimbledon at 2A Kohat Rd, SW19. We’re spreading the LOVE of God.
Working with our Local Community
In 2019, we raised just over £2,000 for Macmillan at our afternoon tea (aka Coffee Morning), held at our local church, 2A Kohat Rd and it went down a treat! Our community worked together to reach our target…

This year, we continued our fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Research. Once again the local community came together i.e. shops and residents, to raise money for the charity. However this time we were out and about in the Wimbledon Shopping Centre.
Our Youth Community Choir debuted on the day and boy did they sing praises! Our youth touched the heart of everyone listening, and the following Sunday we were blessed with visitors to our local assembly who desired to know more about Jesus.
Just so you know, we are still recruiting local choir members… and you can register your interest, by emailing our youth team at YCC@betheloasis.org.uk
