About us
We are a family oriented church, based in Wimbledon, South West London, led by our anointed Pastor, Dr.M Taylor. Our church welcomes all, irrespective of age, ethnicity, or position in life.
We are Apostolic, in other words we follow the teachings of Christ and His Apostles (according to the Holy Scriptures).
We are also part of the wider Bethel family, Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) UK , which was founded by Bishop Sydney Dunn, and has over 40 assemblies worldwide. Our church history is rich; the local assembly originated in Mitcham in the late sixties and in 1982 moved to our current premises, 2A Kohat Rd in Wimbledon. During which time, many souls were saved, lives transformed and ministries birthed. We have truly been blessed!
We believe that:
The Holy Scriptures(Bible) is the inspired Word of God. It is therefore the Law-Book and Final Authority.
There is but ONE GOD; Creator and Preserver of the human race and the universe. He created the man (Adam) and his wife (Eve) in His own image and after His likeness to replenish the earth (Genesis 1: 26-28; 2:20-25).
He manifests Himself as FATHER in Creation, SON in Redemption and as HOLY SPIRIT empowering and leading His Church (Deuteronomy 6:4; Ephesians 4:6; St John 14: 16-18).
Dear Reader, I just want share this phenomenal moment with you.
On Sunday, I sat in church with a quiet expectation, wondering what ‘Word’ the Lord had for me today. My heart leapt as I turned my Bible leaf to the seventeenth verse of Psalms 118. Suddenly, everything stopped and as it were, time bowed too! There was this majestic silence… then I heard these words:
“I shall not die, but live! and declare the works of the LORD…”
I found myself taking a deep long breath and yes, I shouted hallelujah! You see, what I heard was more than spoken words, it was “Spirit and Life”. Instantaneously my spirit, soul, and mind were revived, and I was filled with renewed HOPE for this year…
